This year we can check the box “leaks of a playable version of the game in progress”, because it’s already happened…
The version of Titan Quest 2 in question is called Beta 3.1 and was created by the developers for internal use. The build dated November 8th is for internal testing, so it’s likely that more of the major gameplay elements are included in this version. The game, by the way, was announced by THQ Nordic back in August 2023, and is planned to build on the ideas from the first part. It will have a multiplayer mode, an updated combat system and will certainly support modern graphics technologies (Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR, Intel XeSS upscalers).
We still don’t know how the development build of Titan Quest 2 got out of Grimlore Games, but it’s a big mistake and needs to be investigated internally. THQ Nordic has not yet commented on the leak, but these leaks usually result in the game being delayed or possibly modified so that the store version doesn’t look so much like the leaked version.
