TECH NEWS – The Cupertino-based company will tweak the design of the device a little (?), according to a new leak.
The iPhone 17 Pro models could be a significant step up in design from the current iPhone 16 lineup. A leaker has now shared images of iPhone 17 Pro cases in various colors, so we can see pretty well what to expect. We’ve reported on various leaks and rumors before, but the latest images show what the smartphone will look like in a case, given the huge camera bar on the back.
The leak comes from Majin Boo, and the images appear to show third-party cases with various pastel-colored versions of the iPhone 17 Pro models. On the back (and top) of the phone is an elongated camera tray, unlike the current version where the camera tray is located on the left side of the device. The large camera tray will house a triple-lens camera setup, a microphone, a LiDAR reader, and an LED flash. The photos show the case in off-white, light blue, light green, light green, purple and charcoal gray. While all units are white, one photo shows the camera bar in a dark gray finish. If the leaked images are credible, Apple may stick with the same white and gray color options as the iPhone 16 Pro models.
Sonny Dickson, another leaker, previously posted pictures of the iPhone 17 Pro cases, and the new cases appear to match them, making the design of the device even more authentic. Case manufacturers usually get the dimensions and design details of the device earlier, giving them more time to prepare for production. While the rest of the design is pretty standard, the giant camera bar is the only new feature, aside from the fact that the LiDAR reader, microphone and LED flash would be moved to the right side of the back of the device.
From what we’ve heard so far, the iPhone 17 Pro could get a new evaporative cooling system and more RAM (12GB). The A19 Pro chip will also be present in the Pro models, which will offer a significant performance boost and better power efficiency. However, the chip will be based on TSMC’s 3nm process, so the company cannot cite rising manufacturing costs in the price increase.
None of this is official yet!
