Skydance New Media’s game won’t be coming in 2025, and there are still unanswered questions about it.
Skydance New Media announced on Twitter that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has a new launch window: early 2026. No specific date has been revealed yet. The reason is the usual — the team needs more time to polish the game and deliver the best possible experience. The game will be published through Plaion, and the studio wants to release something that matches their creative vision. They also hinted that exciting things are in the works and more details will be shared soon — which suggests a reveal during June, the usual E3 season.

In the chaos of war, worlds collide. Captain America and Azzuri, the Black Panther of the 1940s, must put aside their differences and form an uneasy alliance to battle a shared enemy. Together with Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos and Nanali, a Wakandan spy stationed in occupied Paris, they must stop a sinister conspiracy that seeks to raise Hydra from the ashes of World War II.
Players will take control of four playable heroes: the young Steve Rogers, aka Captain America; Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather and the WWII-era Black Panther; Gabriel Jones, U.S. soldier and Howling Commandos member; and Nanali, the Wakandan spy. The game uses Unreal Engine 5.4 and promises thrilling, cinematic gameplay inspired by Marvel’s comics, films, and TV shows. Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra aims to capture the action, excitement, and globe-trotting adventure that fans have loved for decades.
But what’s the real issue? Not the 2026 delay — it’s the fact that we still don’t know what platforms the game is targeting!
