TECH NEWS – Despite being just 5.8 mm thick, YouTuber JerryRigEverything has demonstrated that the titanium frame stands up to high pressure without suffering serious damage.

Samsung announced its thinnest smartphone earlier this year. While on paper it closely mirrors the Galaxy S25 Plus in terms of specs, it’s the slim design that truly sets it apart. At just 5.8 mm thick, the company made compromises on battery life and skipped an additional camera sensor. What users worry most about, however, is whether the phone bends under pressure. A new test reveals whether the Galaxy S25 Edge is worth buying when it comes to durability.

JerryRigEverything carried out a comprehensive durability and bend test to see if the device could withstand daily wear and tear. The Galaxy S25 Edge performed impressively in the bend test, remaining intact and fully functional. Before attempting the bend test, Zack from JerryRigEverything conducted the popular scratch test to compare the Galaxy S25 Edge‘s display quality to that of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. As with most other smartphones Zack has tested, the S25 Edge showed scratches at level 6 and deeper grooves at level 7. The YouTuber also applied flame from a lighter to the screen, showing it resisted heat and remained in pristine condition.

During the bend test, Zack used maximum force, which caused a slight bend on one side of the phone and some lifting of the back panel on the other. While this might compromise water resistance, no structural damage occurred. He commented that the results were surprisingly positive, and users shouldn’t be worried about the phone bending even under strong pressure.

This brings up the question of whether Apple could achieve similar structural durability. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be slightly thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge at 5.5 mm, which could make it more vulnerable—but it remains to be seen how the Cupertino giant handles this design challenge.
