MOVIE NEWS – It’s too early to talk box office, but How to Train Your Dragon has already shattered records in terms of audience ratings.

While many questioned the point of remaking an animated classic frame by frame in live action, viewers seem delighted: the film holds a 98% audience score on RottenTomatoes, beating every previous animated adaptation.

What’s fascinating is that all previous “animation-to-live-action” projects (like Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, The Jungle Book) were Disney productions, but rival studio DreamWorks has made its debut in the genre. According to a forward-looking Forbes analyst, this certainly won’t be the last DreamWorks animated hit to get a live-action makeover—expect Shrek or The Prince of Egypt next!
