Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater: One of the Online Modes Will Be Released Later!

Konami has confirmed that the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake will be incomplete at launch.

In a tweet, the Japanese publisher revealed that the Fox Hunt mode, announced in June during the Press Start broadcast, will not be included in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater at launch. Instead, the game mode is expected to be released sometime in the fall. Fox Hunt is an exciting, hide-and-seek-based, completely original online multiplayer mode that builds on the core elements of stealth and survival from the base game. Taking the basics of Metal Gear Online as its starting point, it adds the well-known stealth of Metal Gear, as well as graphical improvements that Konami says take the whole experience to a new level. Let’s recall what Konami said about the mode in June:

“Fox Hunt is a completely original online multiplayer mode. Although it takes place in the same world as Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the gameplay is entirely different. When we say ‘Metal Gear multiplayer,’ many fans probably think of Metal Gear Online, but Fox Hunt will be its own, entirely new mode. We deeply value every longtime Metal Gear Online fan who has always wished for its return, but the multiplayer gaming world has changed a lot since then. It took a lot of careful thought to figure out what a new online mode should look like. Building on the iconic stealth and survival elements of the Metal Gear series, we are taking camouflage and hide-and-seek to new heights. We challenged ourselves to create something unique, more than just a simple shootout. We used the tension between hiding and tracking the enemy to create an online experience that is truly unique to Metal Gear. For now, these are all the details we can share, but we are working hard to bring you Fox Hunt. We plan to share more news about it in the future, so please stay tuned,” said mode director Yu Sahara during the Press Start broadcast.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will launch on August 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
