Bethesda Game Studios (BGS), Todd Howard’s studio, is trying to compete with a similar game, but let’s be honest, it has no chance.
Starfield received a major paid DLC, Shattered Space, last year, and we’ve known for a while that more DLC is on the way. Although rumors suggest it won’t be released until 2026, Bethesda’s references to Starfield’s two-year anniversary suggest the expansion will likely be released in 2025. A recent tweet says it’s time to celebrate two incredible years of Starfield and thanks everyone who explored the Settled Systems with them. They can’t wait for the adventures that lie ahead.
In addition to referencing “what lies ahead,” the tweet includes a video revealing the title of Starfield’s second major DLC. Sharp-eyed Reddit users believe they have pieced together the clues, and initial speculation suggests that the new expansion will be titled Terran Armada. In a recent developer video, Tim Lamb, BGS’s lead creative producer, spoke vaguely about the team’s plans for Starfield and what to expect from the second major DLC. Lamb said some interesting new features are in store, including free updates, player-requested features, and a new DLC storyline. He couldn’t reveal all the details, but he mentioned that part of the team is focusing on space gameplay to make traveling more enjoyable.
However, it’s almost certain that Starfield’s second DLC will be paid content, whether it’s called Terran Armada or not. Meanwhile, No Man’s Sky received another huge update a few days ago, bringing Hello Games’ title to version 6.0—and once again, it’s free. Sean Murray and his team have long since restored their reputation, and they’re still not done.
