Ben Stiller Reveals Why He Knows So Much About Family Drama

MOVIE NEWS – One of Hollywood’s most successful comedy franchises, born from Meet the Parents (Meet the Fockers, Little Fockers), is getting a fourth installment titled Focker In-Law — the Hungarian title will be Menyemre ütök.

As the project comes together, Ben Stiller — the franchise’s star and producer — recently offered a personal glimpse into his own life, which turns out to be as complex as the stories he portrays onscreen.

The Hollywood Reporter has dubbed his new documentary the “most human film of the season.” In Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost, Stiller revisits the turbulent personal histories of his parents and himself, exploring what it means to be a spouse when one partner is a perfectionist workaholic and the other struggles with self-doubt and emotional scars from the past.

According to THR, the film is most compelling when Stiller turns the camera on his own family, reflecting on how he tries to avoid the same mistakes his parents made. Premiering at the New York Film Festival, Stiller noted that while deeply personal, the story carries universal lessons.
