The Witcher Season 4 Trailer Leaves Fans Cold – and Liam Hemsworth Gets Roasted

MOVIE NEWS – The newest trailer for Netflix’s fantasy series has sparked mockery and apathy rather than excitement. Many viewers are comparing Liam Hemsworth’s Geralt to a “Temu version” of the original hero. The penultimate season of The Witcher premieres on October 30.

Henry Cavill’s departure from The Witcher remains a sore spot among fans. Although some initially wanted to give Liam Hemsworth a chance, reactions to the latest trailer have been underwhelming. The audience seems not only critical of the show’s creative direction but largely indifferent to its return.

At 3djuegos, analyzing audience reactions has become a habit whenever a big trailer drops. But this time, the usual Reddit threads dissecting each frame were eerily absent. Beyond a short, inactive discussion thread, the subreddit was silent — filled mostly with game-related posts and artwork. Compared to the hyperactive Harry Potter communities that debate every leak, The Witcher fandom appears apathetic. Netflix’s billion-dollar epic seems to have lost much of its magic.

Even YouTube’s comment section reflected that fatigue. “Geralt as Temu,” “Cheers for the effort, but I’m jumping ship,” “I’m not watching without Henry,” and “If Cavill was the only good thing, I can’t imagine it now,” read some of the top remarks. With season 4 landing in full on October 30 and a fifth already in production, Netflix may struggle to reignite enthusiasm for the franchise.

Henry Cavill’s Exit – Was It Planned Much Earlier?

Fans online are also speculating that Cavill’s departure was decided long before it was made public. In a Tudum interview, Liam Hemsworth mentioned being approached for the role in 2020 — before season 2 even aired. That line has since been deleted, leaving fans wondering if it was a mistake or a slip revealing Netflix’s earlier rift with Cavill. Either way, it adds fuel to the narrative that The Witcher had deeper problems behind the scenes.
