Panic Rumor Debunked: Call of Duty Is Not Dodging Battlefield, Black Ops 7 Sticks To November 14

Talk claimed Black Ops 7 feared Battlefield 6 enough to move its launch. The reality is different. Activision confirmed the new Call of Duty still lands on November 14 with no early access.

The rivalry between Battlefield and Call of Duty has sharpened in 2025. After EA’s comeback defied expectations, Activision lined up Black Ops 7 betas and trials with key BF6 moments, including the launch of RedSec, its battle royale mode, and even the main release window. From there, rumors spread that CoD would shift its date to avoid the clash. That was not the case.

Speculation ramped up last September when supposed insiders suggested early access for the campaign or Zombies, with talk of a one-week head start. The idea was simple: dampen Battlefield 6’s momentum, ride the RedSec spotlight, and use the chatter around Season 1 to draw attention to the new CoD.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Launches On Its Set Date

As reported by TheGamer, Activision officially denied the reports, ending the confusion about timing. The publisher reiterated that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on November 14, and that date stands.

Beyond quashing the rumors, Activision confirmed core content details. Black Ops 7 features a co-op campaign across varied locations, from neon-lit rooftops in Japan to the Mediterranean coast. At launch, multiplayer includes 16 six-versus-six maps and two 20-versus-20 maps, while classic Zombies returns as a round-based experience that drops players into the heart of the Dark Aether.

With release set for next week, Black Ops 7 faces a serious test if it wants to keep pace with Battlefield. Without early access, everyone jumps in at the same time on November 14, 2025.
