Intel Sues Former Employee for Stealing Top Secret Data!

TECH NEWS – The individual had been in his position for over a decade, and it seems his revenge plot has backfired.

Intel is facing a case of information theft committed by a former employee who allegedly stole “top secret” data. Despite having worked for the company for over ten years, the employee stole sensitive data. The employee was reportedly angered by Intel’s recent layoffs and stole sensitive data from the company.

Luo Jinfeng, the employee in question, had reportedly been working at Intel since 2014 and recently received a termination notice ending his employment on July 31. During his final days, Luo stole approximately 18,000 files from Intel’s internal database, including top-secret data.

According to Intel, on July 23, Luo attempted to download a file from his work laptop to an external hard drive, but the company’s internal controls prevented it. However, five days later, Luo connected another storage device and downloaded the files. Following the suspicious file transfer attempt, Intel launched an investigation, which led to Luo being identified as the perpetrator.

After months of unsuccessfully trying to reach him at his Seattle address, Intel officially filed a lawsuit against him. The company is now seeking $250,000 in damages and a court order to prevent Luo from leaking sensitive information. This case is surprising, and it appears that recent layoffs disappointed several Intel employees, including members of the core team.

The lawsuit is ongoing, and Luo has not commented, so it is too early to predict how the situation will unfold. Judging by the news about the theft of Intel’s strictly confidential content, this case is causing serious concern for the company. Since Luo’s name sounds Chinese, there may be some truth to the company’s concerns. Could he have leaked the stolen files to his home country? We cannot rule this out!
