TECH NEWS – AMD is in a strong position in one of Europe’s largest markets, while Intel is sadly falling behind.
While this may be the most dominant sales figure for the RDNA 4 flagship GPU, this is not the case everywhere. While it’s true that the Radeon RX 9070 XT is one of the best upper mid-range GPUs, its significantly better-than-expected sales are surprising. While a single retailer does not provide a full picture, it gives an idea of consumers’ preferences in a given region. It seems that Germans prefer the RDNA 4 GPU.
According to Mindfactory’s latest GPU sales statistics, nearly 925 Radeon RX 9070 XTs were sold last week. This is much higher than Nvidia’s best-selling GPUs, such as the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, of which fewer than 400 units were sold. Most surprising, however, are the poor sales results of the other GeForce RTX 5000 GPUs, which totaled 920 units.

The RX 9070 XT won by a slightly larger margin, unassisted. At the same time, the Radeon RX 9060 XT also performed well, selling 515 units during the same period. Together, they sold more units than Nvidia and Intel GPUs combined. Once again, the Radeon RX 9070 is being overlooked by gamers, with only 40 units sold. This has been the case since its launch. It is also an excellent GPU, but gamers generally prefer the RTX 5070, which offers similar raster performance and better ray tracing. Note that although the RX 9070 XT is selling well in most regions, it isn’t necessarily the best-selling product everywhere. The RTX 5070 ranks first at many online retailers. Overall, Mindfactory’s statistics from last week clearly show that AMD is ahead of Nvidia, with 1,560 units sold compared to Nvidia’s less than 1,000. The RX 9070 XT’s impressive sales can be attributed to the recent price drop. For the first time since its launch, the GPU’s price is approaching the manufacturer’s recommended retail price. Of course, the DRAM price explosion will eventually impact this as well.
