GTA 6 and the Boxed Version Situation: Retailers Signal Bad News for Physical Edition Fans

“They only gave me a sandwich.” He did not receive a single cent for speaking positively about Highguard, yet he was still labeled with all kinds of insults because of it. Some users have accused content creators of spreading “opinions bought” by the studio.

Unfortunate information has reached the PPE.pl editorial office from the reliable insider Graczdari – the leaker who previously revealed the PS5 port of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and the release date of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on NS2.

This source, who works with physical video game sales across Europe, informed us that Take-Two, publisher of Grand Theft Auto VI, is currently not planning a physical edition of Lucia and Jason’s story. At least not at launch, due to the risk of potential story or gameplay leaks, as happened for example with The Last of Us 2.

According to early, still unconfirmed reports, GTA 6 is expected to debut digitally on consoles first, with the boxed version arriving only later. The source could not specify whether this would occur a few weeks after release or only during the first half of 2027.

We are increasingly hearing that the physical edition will not be released at the same time as the digital one in order to limit leaks. Conflicting reports are circulating: some say the boxed version may appear three to four weeks after the digital launch, while others claim it might not arrive until early 2027. More information is expected in mid-February.

When we learn more, we will share the updates.
