Tribute Games is planning a physical edition for its retro-style, side-scrolling beat ’em up, but the launch will happen digitally first. Scott Pilgrim EX is adding two new playable characters, and we now also know when it releases, how much it costs, and which platforms are getting it.

Join Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers for a brand-new adventure that jumps through space, time, and the streets of Toronto in 20XX. The city has been taken over by three rival gangs – vegans, robots, and demons – but who is really behind the madness. When Scott Pilgrim’s bandmates are abducted by shadowy forces, a new adventure begins.

Scott Pilgrim EX is an action-adventure game where players can step into the shoes of Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, and other characters while battling through fractured time and space across Toronto. Combat is driven by instinct and improvisation – a hectic ballet of fists and flashy moves that rewards strategy, spontaneity, and a bit of brawling chaos. You can chain stylish combos, experiment with wacky weapons, and unleash over-the-top special attacks. Characters can be upgraded with special badges that boost stats and grant unique bonuses. Players will explore a whole city of interconnected stages to meet old and new faces, complete quests, and discover hidden areas. Multiplayer co-op, either local or online, lets up to four players jump into the action, keeping things fast, dynamic, and fun.

Step into the shoes of seven fighters, each with a distinct combat style. Take on epic quests and battle new enemies and bosses in a fresh story by series creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, designed to appeal to longtime fans and newcomers alike. Master creative combos, use wacky weapons, take advantage of the environment, and push through the chaos.

Spend your hard-earned coins to customize your fighter. Equip special items and upgrade your stats to create a unique build across runs. Anamanaguchi, known for its explosive mix of 8-bit energy and hyper-melodic rock, returns to its roots with all-new music created for the Toronto-hopping adventure. Team up with up to three friends locally or online thanks to easy drop-in, drop-out co-op. Fight solo or hit the streets together.

Matthew Patel enters the battlefield with theatrical flair and mystic chaos. Blending fire with ritual showmanship, Patel controls the flow of combat like a puppet master – using summoned demon hipsters to distract enemies, manage crowds, and set traps that can swing the fight in his team’s favor. His supernatural abilities let him conjure extra arms, fire off bursts of flame, and unleash devastating finishers infused with mythic power.

Robot-01, meanwhile, is precision and punishment – rocketing across the screen with thrusters and transformations while delivering brutal hits at blistering speed. Built for mayhem, Robot-01 morphs mid-fight, fires long-range shots, and attacks with huge force, raining explosive projectiles across the screen and clearing crowds in a flash.

Scott Pilgrim EX launches March 3 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. It will cost $29 (about 11,600 HUF). The physical edition is planned for a later date.
