We Can Relive the Second Sino-Japanese War on Consoles in The Defiant! [VIDEO]

This war began before World War II, making it a longer and bloodier conflict.

The Defiant is a bold, new, first-person shooter set against the rarely explored backdrop of the Second Sino-Japanese War in China during the 1930s and 1940s. Players will traverse shadowy streets and war-torn villages alongside a loyal companion who adds emotional depth to the journey. You’re stepping on land irrigated with warm blood. There are boundless snowy forests, heavily guarded lanes, and dangerous villages behind enemy lines. You’ll experience the serious atmosphere of the War of Resistance against Japanese invasion in these places. Every plant and brick silently recounts undeniable historical facts.

The weapon you hold is not only a tool, but also a memory passed down through the centuries and proof of history. In this game, you can use dozens of guns, including rifles, assault rifles, pistols, and machine guns. Classic weapons such as the Hanyang Rifle, the legendary Mauser Military Pistol, and the MP18 submachine gun will be at your disposal. Convert them into your survival instinct and blaze a trail on the dangerous battlefield. You’re no longer an audience member. When the enemy’s searchlight illuminates the sky and the vengeful dagger is pushed into the aggressor, you will be ready. This is not a sealed memory. It’s a call for justice in your blood.

It’s a rarely explored topic, so Hoothanes and 4Divinity have taken a bold step. Until now, the only confirmed detail was that The Defiant was coming to PC. However, according to the latest announcement, it’s also in development for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. This doesn’t mean we know the release date, which remains shrouded in mystery. It’s possible we’ll have to wait until early 2027 or longer.
