Studio Iggymob, best known for Gungrave G.O.R.E., is now working on a far darker and more brutal action game. Moosa: Dirty Fate throws players into 17th-century Korea, where famine, plague, collapsing order, and demonic horrors shape a world that looks more like hell than history.
The word moosa refers to a warrior who has mastered martial arts and consciously chosen the path of combat. In Moosa: Dirty Fate, warriors driven by different ambitions and convictions collide, and their choices lead to bloodshed as well as to the fate awaiting them. The game is set in 17th-century Korea, a period defined worldwide by the Little Ice Age, extreme climate anomalies, massive famine, and devastating epidemics. Korea was no exception, and historical records even preserve the chilling line: “With nothing left to eat, man ate man.”
Against this hellish backdrop, players step into the role of Gunn, a warrior who has lost everything to vengeance. He must fight demons disguised as humans and the forces following them, while also uncovering the truth behind the legendary Imugi. At that point, only one goal remains: reclaim a stolen life. And according to the game’s grim outlook, the only person you can truly trust is yourself.
The world itself is not just scenery. Breathtaking mountains and rivers, once-prosperous cities and seats of power, famine-stricken slums, and shadowy back alleys all form part of a setting steeped in the suffering of those who lived through that era. Every region comes with its own atmosphere, combat structure, and story. Every step the player takes becomes part of a legend, while the larger mystery continues to ask whether Imugi is a monster, a god, or simply another tragedy created by humanity.
The narrative will not be limited to the main plot either. Hidden stories can be found even בתוך the cruelty of demons, through conversations with survivors, scattered battlefield notes, and the final words of fallen enemies. Piece by piece, the truth slowly emerges. In battle, swords and bows are not just weapons but extensions of the hero’s heart and will. Moosa: Dirty Fate promises large-scale clashes against overwhelming hordes, intense one-on-one boss battles against colossal creatures inspired by Korean folklore, and stylish, skill-based duels against master swordsmen.
The bow in particular appears to be one of the game’s defining features. Historically mastered by the Korean people, it is reborn here as a strategic tool capable of turning the tide of battle. Combat is brutal, decisions are merciless, and only those who survive will get to write the next chapter. Moosa: Dirty Fate is set to launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, and it will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
