TC Carson, the voice of classic Kratos and already confirmed for the remakes, believes there is a real chance the infamous sex minigames will return in the God of War remake trilogy. The original actor behind Kratos says those scenes could reappear in the remade Greek saga, although he immediately tried to clarify what exactly he meant.
Ever since it was announced a few weeks ago that Santa Monica Studio had started development on remakes of the Greek God of War trilogy, fans have been asking the same question over and over again: will Kratos’s famous sex scenes and sex minigames come back? Most fans think they absolutely should, because they are part of what defined that version of Kratos, while others believe they could easily be removed. No one knows yet what will ultimately happen, but at the very least, the actor who played Greek Kratos has already made a lot of fans happy when the subject came up.
TC Carson, who voiced the original Kratos in the Greek trilogy and has already been confirmed to return for the remakes, responded quite firmly, according to IGN, when asked whether he believes those sex minigames will appear in the upcoming God of War trilogy. During a panel at MegaCon Orlando, one attendee directly asked him about the possible return of those romantic scenes, and Carson smiled before answering. You know what, guys, all of you men, I think so.
The problem is that Carson immediately realized what he had just said and quickly tried to tighten it up. I said I think so. I said I think so. The clip quickly spread across social media, although Carson’s words obviously do not guarantee that these sex minigames will actually be part of the God of War trilogy. It is still far too early to know for certain, since Santa Monica Studio has only just begun development on these titles. What has been confirmed, however, is that we may end up seeing a new combat system.
The God of War Sex Minigames Were Created by Women
Alanah Pearce, a former writer at Sony Santa Monica, also addressed the topic and openly defended keeping sexual content in the God of War remakes. She also explained that these minigames were designed primarily by women, and she herself worked on one of them – specifically Aphrodite’s chamber in God of War 3, which can be seen in the video above. Even so, she does not consider them disrespectful to women, because they fit naturally into Kratos’s Greek era and also functioned as a narrative criticism of the character himself, especially because of his unrestrained rage.
