The Battlefield 6 community has reported that the game crashes on certain maps, especially those with large bodies of water. On July 21, Electronic Arts unveiled its latest map, Tsuru Reef, as part of Battlefield 6’s fourth season, Pacific Front. However, this update has caused some issues for players. The publisher has acknowledged the issue, which continues to affect Battlefield 6 players, especially those with Nvidia GeForce RTX 5000 series graphics cards.
Battlefield Studios issued a statement about the problem, which causes frequent driver crashes. This problem appears to be specific to maps featuring large bodies of water and primarily affects players on the new Tsuru Reef map. According to reports, the issue primarily affects owners of RTX 5000 series cards, though some users with RTX 4000 series cards have also reported driver crashes.

Electronic Arts claims that not all players are affected by this issue, but since it has become widespread, the company is investigating it in collaboration with Nvidia. It is unclear whether the problem is caused by the game or the latest Nvidia drivers, including version 610.74, which was released on July 7. For this reason, Electronic Arts recommends that users revert to an older driver: version 596.49.
This is supposed to resolve the crash issue affecting RTX 5000 series owners, but users who continue to experience crashes are advised to contact Electronic Arts. They should provide details such as their GPU model, the Nvidia driver version, the affected map, and any other relevant information. The developer announced that it will soon release an update on the matter.
Since Nvidia has released faulty drivers for its two most recent architectures, Ada Lovelace and Blackwell, on more than one occasion, they are likely responsible.
