MOVIE NEWS – One of the most defining periods in the history of pop music is being brought back to life in cinemas. The concert film George Michael: The Faith Tour is coming soon, revisiting the singer’s landmark 1988 tour through footage that has never been seen before.

The material for the theatrical film was recorded on 35mm film using 14 cameras during two concerts held at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris. The footage, long believed to have been lost, can now be seen under the direction of George Michael’s longtime creative partners Andy Morahan and David Austin. The production captures the then 24-year-old star at the height of his career. The experience does not end there for fans: alongside the film’s premiere, an 18-track concert album titled The Faith Tour will also be released, featuring previously unreleased recordings from both the Wham! era and Michael’s solo career.

Released in 1987, the album Faith sold more than 25 million copies worldwide, won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, and produced four songs that reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.
