The Xbox 360 version of Toy Story 3 will be unavailable to purchase next month, ahead of the release of the remastered version. Originally released in 2010 to coincide with the premiere of the animated film, the game was well received by critics, particularly for its open-world Toy Box mode, which served as a precursor to Disney Infinity. Since then, it has been available for £8 on the Xbox Store, and thanks to backward compatibility, it continues to run on Xbox Series consoles. However, the game’s description on the Xbox Store has now been updated to inform players that it is being discontinued to make way for Toy Story 3 Complete Edition, the upcoming remastered version by Digital Eclipse.

“Starting on September 29, 2026, Toy Story 3 will no longer be available for purchase. Players who have purchased Toy Story 3 will still be able to access the game after this date. Toy Story 3 Complete Edition will be released on October 15, 2026 for Xbox Series and will include all the original game’s features alongside updated graphics and new content.” the updated description reads.

Announced in June, Toy Story 3 Complete Edition is a modern remaster of the 2010 game featuring enhanced graphics, higher resolution and improved performance. Additionally, the remastered version will include content that was previously exclusive to the PlayStation 3 version. The game will be released alongside a collection titled Toy Story: Retro Roundup, consisting of classic games based on the film series, which were originally released on PlayStation, SNES, Game Boy and other platforms. This collection includes Toy Story (1995), Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue (1999), Toy Story 2 (1999), Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (2000) and Toy Story Racer (2001), as well as the bonus game A Bug’s Life (1998) and Digital Eclipse’s customary behind-the-scenes content and video interviews.

Toy Story: Retro Roundup and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition will each cost $25, while the bundle containing both games will cost $40.
