This is no joke! In addition to announcing the release date, Telltale revealed that the remaster will also feature a noir mode.

The Wolf Among Us Remastered celebrates Telltale‘s most critically acclaimed and genre-defining title. Rebuilt and refined for a new generation, this edition introduces players to the world of Fabletown while bringing longtime fans back to where it all began. In Bigby’s first case, he discovers that a grisly murder is just the tip of the iceberg of something far darker lurking beneath the surface of the city. Across five episodes—Faith, Smoke and Mirrors, A Crooked Mile, In Sheep’s Clothing, and Cry Wolf—players investigate crimes, question suspects, and make difficult choices that shape the course of this mature, noir-style thriller, where every decision matters.

To honor the original story experience, Telltale has brought Fabletown to life again through enhanced visuals, refined character and environment presentation, an updated user interface, improved accessibility features, and technical enhancements, including upgraded animation and audio, as well as improved resolution and frame rate. Additionally, players will have access to more than an hour of bonus content, including behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, image galleries, and deleted scenes that explore the creation of this noir classic.

The Wolf Among Us Remastered will be released on October 29 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. This isn’t a typo—the PlayStation 4 was indeed left out of this list, which is strange because more units of that console were sold than of the Xbox One. There will also be a disc version, as Telltale and co-publisher PM Studios announced in June. No details have been released yet. If we’re lucky, the physical version might be out by the end of November.
