Rebellion Development’s game has been given a release window, and it’s still a while away—but that might not be a big problem.

In Alien Deathstorm, you explore a devastated off-world colony that has been ravaged by a cataclysmic megastorm and overrun by dangerous aliens. You must use your skills and firepower to uncover the colony’s fate. It’s much worse than you expected, and it’s going downhill fast. What you thought was a rescue mission has now become a furious fight for survival.

The action-horror, first-person shooter Alien Deathstorm puts you in the heat of the action as an isolated engineer faced with insurmountable odds. You are dropped into a decimated human colony, left at the mercy of a planetary-scale storm and an endless swarm of predatory aliens. The storm is an ever-present and escalating danger. It has already caused unprecedented damage to the planet and poses an ongoing threat to the intrepid engineer.

At Gamescom, players can experience the game for the first time with the thrilling Reactor mission. The Engineer must survive horrific conditions and a relentless alien onslaught while fighting their way inside a malfunctioning fission reactor to retrieve the Fission Initiator.

Alien Deathstorm is set to launch this spring on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC. Given Rebellion‘s questionable stance, the PC version will likely come with Denuvo anti-piracy protection. It’s also official that the game will be part of the Xbox Game Pass lineup.

It won’t be hard for Alien Deathstorm to be better than Aliens: Colonial Marines in its “out-of-the-box” state (though, to be fair, the Xenomorphs’ AI in that game was flawed due to a typo!), but if it manages to be of higher quality than Alien Resurrection on the PS1, then we’ll have to give it credit. We’ll find out this spring.
