Oculus Rift got its price announced, and it’s not going to be a cheap entry into virtual reality especially for the Europeans – in this area, the Rift will cost 700 euros! Meanwhile, we still can’t confirm anything about the PlayStation VR‘s pricing due to Sony seemingly ignoring this move at the current moment. However, due to a small mistake, there’s a possibility that the PS VR will be more expensive than the Rift!
According to the information of Forbes, the Canadian Amazon website listed Sony‘s PS VR–headset at 1125 Canadian dollars. That means it’s 800 US Dollars! If we consider the higher European prices (just the 1:1 dollar to euro conversion hits the region in a negative way), it might be 800 euros! Is this how they plan to sell 1.9 million PS VRs in this year? However, Amazon quickly deleted the site and Sony Computer Entertainment’s statement says it was a mistake on Amazon’s end, and they haven’t announced the price yet.
We heard that the PS VR might cost between 400 and 600 dollars, which would still be somewhat expensive although it would be a much more reasonable and competitive price against the Rift. We’ll see whenever the Japanese company finally decides to draw those numbers on the price tag!
