Despite having been out for barely more than a week in the Asian region, Dark Souls III received a ridiculously fast speedrun. The current world record is now way under two hours and who knows how faster it can become in the future?
Although the first video below the article is over two hours long, the speedrun starts 12 minutes in after the player dies and decides to restart. Sure, there are other places where he dies, but those are part of his speedrun. One hour, forty-two minutes. That’s all the South Korean player needed to complete the latest FromSoftware game. If you don’t want to see spoilers, we do not recommend watching the video. Dark Souls III releases on April 12 in the North American and European regions.
As a bonus, have a look at the second video – this is how Bandai Namco imagined Dark Souls III if it was released in the ’80s for the VHS. As a film on a video tape – what an amazing idea!
