What? A New Xbox Is In Works?!

Well, well, well! It looks like Microsoft might be working on something behind closed doors.

One CV on LinkedIn has a new name that we haven’t heard of yet (LinkedIn seems to be the source of many rumors nowadays) – David Gardner, Visual Design Lead of Xbox lists a particular title: Xbox NeXt. What is this supposed to be? Gardner has worked on Xbox 360, Xbox One and SmartGlass since 2012, so it might be something unexpected in this context. Perhaps it’s Microsoft‘s answer against Sony’s PlayStation 4K. So… what is NeXt supposed to be? The One’s evolution?

Microsoft issued a quick statement on this subject: „Xbox NeXt was a name of an in-house team for a group that was working on the Xbox One. It’s not related to a new console.”

You read that right – this is not the name of the next Xbox, pardon the pun. However, we’d still see the Redmond team to do something against the 4K despite Xbox-leader Phil Spencer saying otherwise…
