Outlast‘s sequel is slowly, but steadily in development at Red Barrels Games. Thanks to Gamespot, we finally get to see gameplay footage of this game for almost five minutes. (Too bad we didn’t get to see more – no, it’s not just PR talk on our end.)
How can we describe that our character is being chased on a cornfield making us run not to die? Scary? No. That’s too generic. How about saying that this experience is immersive? That suits the situation more. You need to play this yourself, not just play it. This is the reason why Outlast‘s sequel looks to be a potentially successful title. The first game, as well its Whistleblower expansion wasn’t bad, although the asylum becomes a little too tiresome towards the end. The sequel might lift the series to a whole new level.
Outlast II is out in the autumn for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Prepare to be scared. Even the audio seems to be on song…
