MOVIE NEWS – Annabelle‘s back! Shooting has started in Los Angeles on New Line Cinema’s Annabelle 2, with David F. Sandberg (upcoming Lights Out) directing the follow-up to 2014’s hugely successful horror flick, Annabelle, which brought scared up approximately $257 million at the worldwide box office during its run in theaters. The new movie is once again being produced by Peter Safran and James Wan, who also partnered so effectively on The Conjuring films.
Anthony LaPaglia and Miranda Otto joined the cast of up and came young actors in the horror sequel.
In Annabelle 2‘s, several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle. Sandberg directs from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman, who also wrote Annabelle.
The film stars Talitha Bateman (The 5th Wave), Stephanie Sigman (Spectre), Grace Fulton (Badland), Lulu Wilson (upcoming Ouija 2, Deliver Us from Evil), Philippa Anne Coulthard (After the Dark), Samara Lee (Foxcatcher, The Last Witch Hunter), Lou Lou Safran (The Choice), Tayler Buck in her feature film debut, with Anthony LaPaglia (TV’s Without a Trace) and Miranda Otto (Showtime’s Homeland, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy). It isn’t known how long principal photography will take on this sequel. The original movie was produced on just a $6.5 million budget, but it isn’t known how much the sequel will cost to produce.
Annabelle 2 has been given a May 19, 2017 release date.
