MOVIE NEWS – It’s a well know fact that Orlando Bloom, the original hero of Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy is returning to play in this summer’s sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, after having to skip the fourth movie. Now, it seems that we will get an actual Black Pearl reunion, as Keira Knightley, who also skipped chapter four, will be back as well.
This update comes from TooFab, who told Keira Knightley will make her surprise return this May when Johnny Depp‘s famous Captain Jack Sparrow will once again set sail on the seven seas for another dangerous adventure. It’s told that she already shot her scenes, which were all done in secret.
As fans own it pretty well, Keira Knightley acts Elizabeth Swann in the pirate adventure franchise. And she is apparently confirmed that she will have an on-screen reunion with her two original co-stars. Unfortunately for Keira fans, it is said to be only a small cameo. It is told to be part of the post-credit sequence that will be used to set up the already announced Pirates of the Caribbean 6. On the other hand, Orlando Bloom has a much more extensive role in Dead Men. As to Disney fatcats, they are presently declining to comment.
In this all-new high seas adventure, the ever unlucky Captain Jack Sparrow will have his usual ill-fortune ever stronger, than normal in Dead Men Tell no Tales. Deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the dreadful Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, resolute to kill every pirate at sea…including Jack. Sparrow’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its total possessor control over the seas.
The supporting cast will comprise newcomers Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites, and Golshifteh Farahani, but older fan favorites from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise will also return such as Geoffrey Rush as Barbossa, Stephen Graham as Scrum and Kevin McNally as Joshamee Gibbs. We also reported last year that music legend Paul McCartney would play a brand new character, but no details about his role have been revealed.
Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg will direct this pirate adventure, from a script by Jeff Nathanson. Disney has set a May 26, 2017, release date, which puts it up against Sony’s sci-fi thriller Life, starring Ryan Reynolds.
The production on this highly-anticipated movie took place in Australia last year. While Disney did release a trailer earlier in the year, but it was a very gloomy trailer that did not reveal the return of Jack Sparrow or Orlando Bloom‘s Will Turner. It is suspected that Pirates 5 will start its promotional assault early in the New Year. A trailer is expected soon. But don’t expect to see Keira Knightley return in any of the new footage. Her return will be saved for the big screen. Here’s the Pirates 5 teaser trailer in case you missed it earlier in the year.
