MOVIE NEWS – The Division gets a writer and director.

Stephen Gaghan, who has won an Oscar Award for the script of 2000 movie Traffic has been announced as The Division‘s writer and director. In this movie, Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain will both be participating – the former actor has had a role in the reboot of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time as well.

Ubisoft needs something decent in MOVIES, not just games: Assassin’s Creed has critically been considered to be a flop, and The Division is going to be interesting to see how it can be turned into a cinematic adaptation.

If Gaghan turns this MMOTPS into a somewhat brainless post-apocalyptic movie, it could be one step closer to be a success. (However, Vivendi might be grinding the entire project to a halt if they take over Ubisoft, which looks more and more possible.)
