Capcom is indeed going back to its older games.
In the late eighties and early nineties, many Walt Disney cartoons have been watched by millions of kids around the world, and the cartoons mostly all ended up in video games as well. This is Capcom’s next plan: capitalizing on the history with minor tweaks.
The digital-only collection will contain six games: Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 1-2, Darkwing Duck, DuckTales 1-2, and TaleSpin. Six NES games in one for 20 dollars/euros or 16 pounds in 1080p resolution (with borders), a few filter options for the retro look, boss rush and time attack modes. Those who aren’t experienced in old games can help themselves with the rewind function. The Disney Museum „will provide history buffs with a wealth of content to celebrate the era of the original releases, such as concept art, advertisements, character art, and music – all preserved in their original glory,” according to the press release.
It’s Megaman Legacy Collection all over again. We have nothing else to say other than the release date: April 18 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. (And no Switch. Yep, despite originally Nintendo titles, the collection will not be available on the new N platform.)
