One of Ubisoft‘s employees deny everything regarding the new Assassin’s Creed… and he also confirmed something as well.
Ubisoft’s Head of Content, Aymar Azaizia has held an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit, where he first denies that leaked screenshot of Assassin’s Creed: Empire, claiming that it was fake. He then moved on to talk about open world games, which makes sense, as Ubisoft mostly creates titles in that genre. His response to the question about recent successes, such as Horizon: Zero Dawn, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, was nothing short of a politician reply, saying that he’s ready for the competition…
The modern narration also came into the session. „Present day [narration] is an important piece of AC identity IMHO, and that’s why we pushed so much to have a lot Present in transmedia at large (comics, novels, movie…). In the game, it is hard to achieve what we would all like to see, but our team are well aware about the importance of it, so if we use modern setting, we will have to nail it, we agree on that,” he said.
He also said that multiplayer is highly unlikely at the moment for Assassin’s Creed, which will also probably skip VR as well. Still, he confirmed that a live-action TV series is in the works, which might not be a good idea.
