Square Enix opens new studio in Tokyo by Hajime Tabata

The director of Final Fantasy XV will work on new triple-A video games.

Square Enix has opened a new studio in the city of Tokyo that goes by the name of Luminous Productions. It will be directed by the main person in charge of Final Fantasy XV, the veteran Hajime Tabata, and will focus its efforts on the creation of triple A video games destined to a global audience.

The new studio of Square Enix, which has not announced any particular game, will strive to create “innovative games and other entertainment content” for a broad audience. Japanese developers will bet on “innovative technology and creativity to change the future of videogames and entertainment,” they confirm in their official statement.

We will know the first details of his first big project at the end of this year.
