Bandai Namco revealed a detailed breakdown of the guest character.
In the video below, Borys Pugacz-Muraszkiewicz, CD Projekt RED‘s producer provides commentary, and he says that the Polish team’s goal was to make Geralt move, feel, and play in Soul Calibur VI just like in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. However, the movement, the timing, the play-perspective, and the general responsiveness are very different in this fighting game, which meant that they had to change a thing or two.
„We started with defining the center of the gravity. This is important because Geralt is very steady, he never makes any unnecessary movements. When he fights, he’s always confident, very focused on here and now. We even asked the original motion capture actor to supervise motion capture recordings for Geralt in Soul Calibur,” Pugaz-Muraszkiewicz said.
Geralt looks at home in the fighting game (he’s even going to be on the game’s box art) – Soul Calibur VI will launch this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
