2020 – another time we see this year surface, but instead of the PlayStation, now it’s Xbox‘ turn to have this year as a potential launch year for the next hardware.
Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox, already hinted at the fact that Microsoft is already working on the next generation platform during their E3 conference. NDTV, based on a reliable insider called Brad Sams (who previously was correct about the Xbox One S’ name, as well as the Xbox One X’ release date), reported about the next Xbox.
The hardware’s codename is Scarlett (similarly to how we called the PlayStation 4 Pro as Neo, and the PlayStation VR as Project Morpheus, respectively), and Sams thinks that this name could also be used for „a family of devices” with „multiple pieces of hardware” to launch next year potentially. Scarlett, seeing how Microsoft is actively supporting backward compatibility, could also arrive with the support of previous generation titles.
If all this information is accurate, Sony has a lot to do…
