Capcom has packed the Deluxe Edition to the brim… perhaps they overdid it.
Capcom announced the contents of Devil May Cry 5‘s Deluxe Edition, and they also released the Tokyo Game Show trailer, which we embedded both with English and Japanese voices. The list will be quite hefty, so get ready:
There will be four exclusive Devil Breaker arms for Nero (Buster Arm – early access to it; Mega Buster – a recreation of Mega Man’s weapon (!), designed for long-range attacks; Pasta Breaker – it makes pasta extra easy to eat, created by Nico; Sweet Surrender – created by Nico to relieve Kyrie’s tension); live-action cutscenes (changes the in-game cutscenes to the live-action movies recorded during development, accessible via Options > Cutscene Customize, available after starting mission 2); battle music – 12 tracks from Devil May Cry 1 to 4 (three per game), alternate title calls and Style rank announcers (available via Gallery – Jukebox after starting mission 2); alternate hero color for Nero and Dante; and Dante gets a new weapon (Cavaliere R – can be used in-game after acquiring the Cavaliere).
Still, it’s somewhat pathetic that music gets locked behind the Deluxe Edition paywall – the rest is somewhat understandable (maybe except for the Devil Breaker arms…), but the trend seems to continue: developers/publishers lock content from the game behind a more expensive version of their product.
Devil May Cry 5 is out on March 8 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
