The Coalition will implement measures to balance control by mouse and keyboard in Gears 5.
In an interview with GameSpot, Ryan Cleven (director of multiplayer modes in The Coalition ) has confirmed that next Gears will support the cross-play between PC and Xbox One for all modes. Of course, the studio is aware of the advantage of control by mouse and keyboard over the command, so it has also implemented security measures in this regard.
“We are pleased to confirm that our game will have a cross-play between Xbox One and PCs running Windows 10 for Versus multiplayer. The cross-play also extends to the other Gears 5 modes to offer a great three player experience in Escape, the epic Horde of five players, and the cooperative Campaign of three players “.
“For the release of Gears 5, Xbox players will be able to manually deactivate the pairing against PC players for qualifying games,” adds the creative. Thus, players will have the possibility to choose whether or not to face the most popular control among computer users. Gears 5 will be available next September 10th.
Recently, it was confirmed, that there will be no lootboxes in Gears 5.
„Gears 5 is the largest Gears of War to date; it’s the largest campaign ever made, the largest PvE ever made, the largest versus ever made. The team at The Coalition is an extremely talented but focused team that believes in this game. They’re extremely passionate about bringing their mark, a high degree of quality, and a legacy that Gears fans will recognize. There is no magic bullet; it’s trusting the people around you. [Studio head Rod Fergusson] has this saying he repeats every time we start a new project: ‘If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.’ That’s something we believe in at the studio. We believe in trusting each other so we can get efficiency out of that,”
