Sony keeps changing it over and over when it comes to announcing the freebies that those players can access who pay out the wazoo to be capable of playing online multiplayer in all supported PlayStation 4 games.
Seriously, we have started to get used to Sony announcing the next month’s PlayStation Plus titles every last Monday after abruptly changing from the last Wednesday. Now, the company thought „to hell with it,” and promptly reverted to the old method. Who on Earth predicted that to happen? We surely did not. They should decide on which method to stick with because this is getting ridiculous…
So in August, the two free titles are Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered (yes, just the story mode). These can still be acquired until August 31 – in case you missed them, you still have a few days. However, the September pairing will offer a similar level of quality.
The first game is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or PUBG for short. This battle royale game was formerly competing with Fortnite until Epic Games doubled down on its game (both are incidentally using Unreal Engine 4, although Fortnite will swap to Unreal Engine 5 next year). So they swapped a battle royale with… a battle royale. The other game is by Capcom, and it’s probably its last hurrah – we are talking about Street Fighter V. A 4.5-year age is a lot in the fighting game genre, isn’t it? There’s also going to be a tournament for the game in Canada and the United States in case you are interested.
The two games will replace the August ones on September 1. We have seen better, but we’re likely not going to see anything good for a while.
