The Witcher Monster Slayer: A New ’The Witcher’! [VIDEO]

… But The Witcher Monster Slayer is a very different Witcher than we expected …

The Witcher saga continues to expand, and it does it in a way we didn’t imagine. Following titles based on the Gwent card game or TV series, The Witcher Monster Slayer has just been announced. A game developed for mobile devices inspired by titles like Pokémon GO or Harry Potter Wizards Unite.

In The Witcher Monster Slayer we will use the augmented reality of iOS and Android devices to explore the real world until we find fictional creatures that will give us the possibility of feeling like a demon hunter like Geralt of Rivia himself. As stated on the official website, the game is set long before the time of the White Wolf and will take us to explore places that “were once idyllic and are now infested with dangerous beasts.”

On this occasion, as the game is inspired by role-playing games, and will put us through battles at the blow of the sword for which we will have to be prepared. The character must be trained and the preparation for each battle will require a strategic touch, with potions, oils and bombs among the inventory objects that we will need to get out of the battles with flying colors. The enemies will be dangerous creatures of all kinds, some of enormous size, that will be familiar to fans of the saga written by Sapkowski.

The game is being developed by Spokko, a Polish company specializing in mobile development that was acquired in 2018 by CD Projekt RED. Its launch is scheduled for the end of this year for iOS and Android, although no specific date has been specified. The studio claims it will do so later.

While you’re tasting the announcement by the developer, we recommend a little spiritual food along with what is expected to be a very bitter wine for many: read our review on The Witcher 3!
