MOVIE NEWS – According to Tom Holland, he has made a mistake in forming Nathan Drake, and we rarely see such a critical comment.
We might know Tom Holland from his role as Peter Parker and Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but this time, he swapped his heroics to become a treasure hunter in the Uncharted film adaptation that was announced more than a decade ago. Holland mostly talked about his other roles in other films in an interview with GQ, but Uncharted was also mentioned.
„I think there are elements of my performance in Uncharted where I kind of fell under that spell of being ‘I want to look good now. I want this to be my cool moment.’ I had to play this very tough, very stoic guy – be Mark Wahlberg. My character is supposed to be a fucking action hero at this moment! But it was an important lesson learned, because, at times, it was less about land a mark and go through this scene and more about land a mark, stand like this and see my bulging biceps… It was a mistake and is something that I will probably never do again,” Holland said.
So he’s being cautious, and not just because of his performance, but also because how Uncharted is a significant IP that has grown since the cinematic adaptation’s announcement, which puts additional weight on Holland’s shoulders. This explains why he is unusually critical of his actions. We wouldn’t be in his shoes.
Maybe his performance isn’t going to be a problem whatsoever. Still, we will have to wait for a while, and even he hasn’t seen himself yet. Uncharted is currently set to debut in February 2022 so we are still a good year away from seeing the film that didn’t even get a trailer yet.
