One of the voice actors of the Call of Duty games has had some sexist remarks, which is why the publisher wants nothing to do with him anymore.
NitroLukeDX, a streamer, has published several clips on Twitter, and in them, Jeff Leach, who voiced Ghost in both the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remake and Call of Duty: Warzone, had used some gendered insults. In 2017, another streamer, ZombiUnicorn got insulted for their „horrendous cleavage,” which led to Leach getting banned from Twitch.
Recently, on Facebook Gaming (because yes, even Mark Zuckerberg has a Twitch competitor), got a comment from Leach while playing Call of Duty: Warzone, saying „Suck my fat, girthy c***, you stupid c***.”
ZombiUnicorn responded in a video, calling for Facebook Gaming and Activision Blizzard to take responsibility for partnering with Leach, saying the following: „It’s not acceptable. These people like Jeff Leach won’t change. They haven’t changed, and they won’t. There are people who f*ck up and make mistakes, who take responsibility and understand that they were wrong. They do some reflecting and therapy and they work on it and try to become better people. That’s not this situation. This is an example of someone who has been documented for years doing the same misogynistic, horrible, malicious behaviours.”
CharleIntel reported that Activision Blizzard has cut ties with Leach, and they published the following statement: „Sexism has no place in our industry, our games or in society. Activision [Blizzard] is no longer working with Jeff Leach. We strongly condemn these remarks. We are committed to delivering a fun and safe experience for all players.”
Leach responded on Twitter, saying that these clips were taken out of context and showed „me destroying a troll in chat,” and they were chosen „to fit a character defaming narrative.” There might be more behind the scenes.
