Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2: The PlayStation 5 Port Is Delayed

CI Games, formerly known as City Interactive with its budget games, didn’t delay the other ports of the game: only the PlayStation 5 version is facing a delay.

Due to „unforeseen technical issues discovered in the weeks leading up to launch,” CI Games has decided to delay the PlayStation 5 port of Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, which will show up „later in 2021.” Meanwhile, the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC (Steam) release dates remain unchanged.

To apologize for the PlayStation 5 version’s delay, CI Games also decided to provide the first major DLC (which will include a new and extensive map complete with new contracts) free of charge to players, regardless of which version they got. However, more details will emerge about this at a later date. The PlayStation 5 version of Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will benefit from native 4K resolution, enhanced textures and visuals, and faster load times.

„We could not have foreseen these issues. However, we would like to assure our players that our highly experienced, professional and dedicated team are working hard with the platform holder and engine provider to resolve the problems as soon as feasibly possible, to ensure we can bring the PlayStation 5 community the high calibre sniping game they have been waiting for. We will offer a free digital upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version with all physical and digital purchases of the PlayStation 4 release,” CI Games executive producer Tobias Heussner said in a press release. In other words, they are working with Sony and Crytek (as the game is using CryEngine).

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will launch on June 4 on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
