Polyphony Digital’s next title will not play with small bids even in the car amount either: when Kazunori Yamauchi, Gran Turismo’s father, said that the game would embrace car culture, he wasn’t messing around.
Gran Turismo has been one of the crown jewels for Sony Interactive Entertainment and PlayStation since its 1997 (or 1998 in the West) launch. Polyphony Digital and Yamauchi’s team continued evolving the series on newer console generations, and while the PlayStation 4 received only one title (the PS1 got two games, the PS2 also received two, if we don’t count the Concept titles; the PS3 got two again, and even the PSP received one…), and even that focused on eSport and online competition, the PlayStation 5 might make up for everything.
On Twitter, a Japanese pamphlet surfaced regarding Gran Turismo 7. It was handed out at a Japanese retail outlet called Yodobashi Camera and GTPlanet provided translations. Gran Turismo 7 will feature “over 420 car models with the highest quality ever” with “Over 90 tracks with realistic weather and realistic scenery. The long-awaited GT Mode, which you can enjoy the car life, is back again. Enjoy various events as buying, selling and tuning the cars and racing,” the pamphlet reads.
It also gives us an overview of what we can expect: “Brand Central: a shopping mall in which over 60 automobile brands assemble. You can purchase over 300 post-2011 cars here.
