Cocaine Bear: the Cocaine Turbo Bear has Become a Superhero

MOVIE NEWS – The thriller-comedy Cocaine Bear deals with a grotesque case that happened. In 1985, a drug smuggling operation went awry and a black bear ate the cocaine that had fallen from the plane. The predator, who died of an overdose, has become a cult figure and can be seen stuffed in Lexington, Kentucky.

From this story, the creators of the film conjured up a dizzying story full of black humor, where the bear does not die from an overdose, but starts running amok, demanding more and more doses of white powder, not to mention being decimated the human population in the area.

The bear in the film becomes a real superhero from cocaine. The common North American black bear is not a small-track predator even when idling, the quarter-ton animal can smell anything from a kilometer and a half away, it can climb up a tree one meter per second, and it can reach a speed of 50 km/h on flat ground (therefore, it is not worth trying to run if it comes towards us on a trail, guides for those who like nature walks are advised). Compared to this, the cocaine turbo bear provides many times the performance in all areas. He can sense the cocoon from kilometers away, climbs trees faster than Spider-Man, and runs down his victims at a speed of hundreds.

Another special feature of Cocaine Bear is that in the dramatic scenes the bear is played by an actor – with the necessary computer assistance, the technology is called Wētā FX – who is Andy Serkis learned the tricks of the trade. You can’t even imagine the otherworldly creatures of modern cinema without Serkis, it’s enough just for Lord of the Rings (Gollum), the new Star Wars trilogy (Snoke) or Thinking of the Planet of the Apes movies (Caesar). His student, Allan Henry, gives a perfect performance in the role of the overturned bear, according to the film’s director, Elizabeth Banks, he managed to surpass the performance of the legendary predator from The Returner.
