MOVIE NEWS – Nicolas Cage’s four-decade career has been punctuated by huge successes – including an Oscar for his lead role in Las Vegas. From time to time, the papers recall that in his first winning streak, he clapped 150 million dollars in a short time.
Like a Hide and Seek hero, he bought himself an island, a couple of castles and a million-year-old dino skull in a wild mood. In the meantime, the tax office started chasing him because he owed 6 million dollars, then after a more intense review of the papers, they hit him with another 350,000, but he was also harassed by banks because of unpaid installments. It took Cage 15 years to sort out his financial situation. He is currently managing with 25 million dollars (9 billion forints), and he swears that he will not throw this money out the window again. Last year, he said that from now on he chooses his films, he chooses those that represent an artistic challenge and even bring money to the kitchen.
Renfield, in which the Oscar-winning actor plays Count Dracula, can therefore also be considered the opening of the new Cage era, the giving his best form according to the preview. The production does not guide you to the dreary Transylvanian wage earners, but goes around a modern labor problem in a special way. Renfield (Nicholas Hoult) is an assistant to the immortal earl and wants to get rid of his job because he has long been oppressed by his boss’s toxic attitude.
