PrimeTime, a role-player in Grand Theft Auto Online, has broadcasted on Kick for a record time.
On September 1, PrimeTime announced on Facebook (where he has over 60,000 followers; he is partnered with Facebook Gaming) that he would attempt to broadcast on Kick for 167 hours without interruption. He wanted to break the world record (162 hours, set by ThisFudginGuy) and better his record of 105 hours. The challenge? No opportunity to sleep, while others on Twitch have openly stated when they sleep (and broadcast it) during their subathons, where they complete challenges (e.g., shave their hair) when they reach specific subscriber numbers.
PrimeTime kept its audience engaged by chatting to viewers while playing Grand Theft Auto Online. He lasted nearly a week, broadcasting for 164 hours without sleep. It became the new world record, but in his tweet, he raised his goal to 200 hours, which means he will want to broadcast live for 8 1/4 days without sleep. ThisFudginGuy also congratulated the new record holder and suggested that he would return to streaming to reclaim his throne, then added that the Guinness World Records did not certify the record because no PrimeTime did not want to pay someone to certify it.
Many people congratulated PrimeTime on Kick for the record after following his older broadcasts on Facebook. Still, others pointed to his health and said he could do with a good night’s sleep because sleep deprivation is not a game. Meanwhile, it is indeed a trend for broadcasters to complete such challenges. iiTzTimmy, who plays Apex Legends, played 54 hours on Twitch two years ago to show how he progressed from Bronze to Predator level. By the end, he had over 100,000 views.
We should point out that sleep deprivation is a health risk for whoever it is (so this doesn’t just apply to broadcasters and viewers, too!). Chronic illnesses and health problems can occur if we do not get enough sleep. And sleep is good!
