Automatic Detergent Dispensing, Self-Diagnosing Fridge – the Smart Home Appliances of the Future are Here

TECH NEWS – We are still far from widespread use of smart household appliances, but interest in them is constantly growing. The rise of smart homes will be boosted in the future if household appliances can be fully integrated into the system. The biggest breakthrough in development can be achieved on the one hand by energy efficiency efforts and on the other hand by the self-diagnosis capability of the devices.

Making the handling of household appliances simpler and saving users as much time as possible – this was the goal of Hisense during the development of household appliances. This autumn, the Chinese group of companies also made Hisense smart home appliances available on the Hungarian market.

Convenience functions drive the purchase

“Demand for smart household appliances is not yet that widespread in Hungary, but interest in them is constantly growing. We see that, for example, Western European countries are ahead in this, which is partly due to the fact that Hungarians are price sensitive and smart household appliances are available in the premium segment. On the other hand, the fact that the Hungarian market always needs more time to adopt technological innovations.” – said Gábor Nagy, product manager of Gorenje-Hisense household appliances. The expert added that, according to their experience, Hungarians are primarily convinced by the convenience functions, such as the fact that they can find everything related to the given machine in their phone: the user manual, data, and advice for proper use.

Control from the phone is provided by Hisense with the help of the ConnectLife ecosystem, which also sends notifications about the technical status of the machines to the user. In the case of refrigerators, the intelligent diagnostic function (Smart diagnostic) increases this, because the machine performs a self-diagnostic test and indicates any problems found.

Another interesting feature of Hisense’s refrigerator models is that they are There is also /a>, which has a 21-inch touch screen display, so in addition to settings, it can also be used to view photos and search for recipes, but it can also become a message wall. This model can produce 2.2 kg of ice in half a day, for which it uses the tap directly instead of a water tank. In addition, it also has a food inventory function, so that food can be added, users can name ingredients and set expiration dates.

Hisense also introduced new in the washing and washing-drying categories. smart appliances, the real specialty of which is the AutoDose function: the technology of automatic detergent dosing allows the device to automatically dose the detergent according to the pre-set degree of soiling and the weight of the laundry load, which means that the user only needs to use it about once a month charge the machine. In addition, the level of detergent and the amount of energy used can be continuously monitored in the ConnectLife application, and all programs can be customized and saved as favorite programs.

Complete smart homes from smart devices

Today, there are smart devices in every home that use the latest technology and make life easier for users, but the design of the entire smart home is not new either, and is constantly expanding.

“There are countless smart devices in the world, from household appliances to intelligent irrigation systems. Although replacing all household appliances with smart ones is still the music of the future, it is worth getting to know the new things little by little. In such cases, let’s choose a smart device that increases our level of comfort, improves our energy consumption and does not exceed the IT capabilities of the family to operate,” Róbert Pintér, assistant professor at Corvinus University and information society researcher, added at the round table discussion.

Gábor Nagy believes that although the smart home system currently favors entertainment electronics and safety and health-related machines among Hungarian users, household appliances will also be integrated in the near future.

Amazing possibilities in smart home appliances

According to the Hisense expert, there are great opportunities in the smartness of devices, which manufacturers are constantly researching. One of the biggest breakthroughs could be if an even more accurate picture of the technical condition of the machines can be given: this is predictive maintenance, that is, that the smart devices monitor themselves and, if they detect a change, notify the service center immediately, even if they are working perfectly at that moment.

The aim of the developments is to increase energy efficiency, since reducing the ecological footprint is also extremely important in this sector, so for example, in the case of washing machines, the focus will continue to be on increasing the washing efficiency.
