Gearbox the company behind had its ups and downs: while they had a lot of success with Borderlands, Aliens Colonial Marines was a giant flop. Now, they’ve announced a brand new title for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
Battleborn is the name of the game and it has a similar cell-shaded cartoonish style as Borderlands. Battleborn isn’t a “real” first person shooter, as it has more in common with games like League of Legends, Dota 2, focusing on the classic MOBA (Multiplayer online battle arena) gameplay.
Nevertheless, Battleborn has its first person shooter elements fused with the MOBA gameplay, which may be very interesting. GameInformer’s impending issue will gave a huge article on the game, where probably new details will be revealed. Battleborn is scheduled for release sometime next year. Let’s hope that it will be a lot better than Aliens Colonial Marines was from Gearbox.
Gearbox has released the first reveal trailer, seen above, and they’ve also revealed the box art of the game.
