The Last of Us Remastered’s players will get two free maps

The Last of Us Remastered has been an enormous success on the PlayStation 4, and the developer Naughty Dog has now announced that the game’s multiplayer portion will have two new, free multiplayer maps.

The new maps are for the Factions multiplayer mode, and they will be both available for the PS4 and PS3 versions of the game, so if you bought the game last year on PS3, don’t worry: you will have the maps as well. According to Naughty Dog, the free content is their way of sowing appreciation for gamers having to go through the recent multiplayer matchmaking issues.

There were some problems concerning matchmaking issues for online multiplayer, where players are having trouble getting into a match. Naughty Dog is working on a fix, and plans to release several updates over the next month to help to solve the issues.

There’s no release date so far for the new maps, but with a bit of luck they’ll get released alongside a decent multiplayer patch soon. The Last of Us Remastered was released on the PlayStation 4 last month, and has been a huge success so far, even reaching the top of the sales charts in certain territories — which is quite an achievement for a remake.
