SOMA: Behind the musical scenes [VIDEO]

While everyone is playing Until Dawn (we’re already preparing for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and Mad Max – you can read our review of Until Dawn here), we are already focusing on the next game called SOMA. Frictional Games‘ survival-horror game is going to be out in a month, and we can now get to know more details about the music. Is the developers’ name familiar? You might know their work: for example, they worked on Amnesia: The Dark Descent too, just to bring up one example…

The music is composed by the Finnish Mikko Tarmia: he worked on the music for the Penumbra games (also made by Frictional Games) and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, so he’s pretty much an insider in this genre’s music. In the video, we can see his studio and some of the hardware he used to compose SOMA‘s music, also giving us a sneak peek of what we can expect to hear.
The game has been in development for some five years, so the PlayStation 4 is likely to receive a quality survival-horror game on September 22. We’d deserve that, and going by Mikko’s music, we will be afraid a lot while playing SOMA

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
