Driveclub is in a somewhat weird situation. When it was announced, we were hoping this game to see in the PlayStation 4 launch games’ line-up, but it got delayed by almost a whole year. We didn’t even get into the fuss about the PlayStation Plus version yet, and that edition was delayed even more. Since then, we saw a bike expansion released, and Evolution Studios seemingly keeps taking care of their game in 2016 as well.
What about the companion app? Good question. Driveclub‘s director, Paul Rustchynsky responded to a question regarding the app on his Twitter. He says a new one will launch in 2016. It wouldn’t be surprising – after all, we have seen that Driveclub is going to get urban setting levels and new cars in the next year. Another question was asked as well: how many employees work at Evolution Studios? Over 50 – Rustchynsky said. After having to lay off some people from the team, it’s not that bad.
Hopefully, Evolution will return to the high quality of their PS2 and PS3 exclusive WRC and MotorStorm games, respectively.
